Since the Padma Bridge Opened

With the Padma Bridge handling most long-distance vehicle traffic, the Shimulia–Banglabazar ferry now primarily serves:

  • Local residents of both banks
  • Pedestrians and cyclists
  • Vehicles going to nearby upazilas

Tips

  1. Avoid Friday afternoons — heaviest pedestrian traffic
  2. Motorcycles should arrive early — limited bike space per ferry
  3. Carry change — ticket counters may not have change for large notes
